This article serves as an introduction to HR shared service. Without much hype or preordained vision, shared service plays a significant role in HR delivery today. This article aims to provide an overview of the key issues and points out some of the specific challenges of shared service, albeit from a mainly European perspective. It also suggests some areas for further debate.
